For many years, churches across the Hunter have come together in prayer and unity, believing that God’s love has the power to transform entire cities. From this shared conviction emerged significant citywide moments, including the Harvest Crusades in 2003 and 2005, and later Cityfest in 2012 on Newcastle’s foreshore in partnership with the Palau organisation. Initiatives such as CityServe (2013–2020) further mobilised Christians to serve their neighbours and bless the city in practical and visible ways.

Central to much of this journey has been Rick Prosser. In 2011, Rick stepped out of full-time paid ministry roles to respond to God’s call as a missionary to Newcastle. His conviction is simple yet bold: a city can be reached for Christ when the Church is united and believers are mobilised across every sphere of life.

Over the years, Rick has served in many capacities—pastor, charity leader, encourager of Christian leaders, and catalyst for unity. Through seasons of joy and sacrifice, the mission has remained constant: to see people, communities, and cities transformed by the healing purposes of God. In response to a local need, Rick served from 2015 as Pastor of Life Church and CEO of Soul Hub, a community service ministry to the disadvantaged.

In October 2025, Rick transitioned out of local church and charity leadership to again focus fully on his Kingdom calling through Kingdomworks—championing oneness, mission, and city transformation into the decade ahead. Funds donated to Kingdomworks support Christian initiatives across the region and help sustain Rick and his family as he continues to lead this work in faith.
