Port Stephens Mayor’s Prayer Dinner.

1 September, 2023

Port Stephens Mayor’s Prayer Dinner 2023 was the coming together of our churches from Raymond Terrace right through to Nelson Bay. As the Church comes together to Pray, we are releasing a Blessing over our region. There was a tangible excitement and oneness throughout the whole evening as the church enjoyed coming together as ONE.

Our theme this year was to celebrate what the churches are doing in our Community. By opening their doors to help those who are struggling financially and emotionally through Food Care, Pastoral help, JP Services, Free haircuts & “Depression & Hope Support Groups” etc. we are showing our community we really care about their situations.

Our Senior Students from St Phillips Christian College  and Medowie Christian School welcomed guests as they arrived and guided them to their seats.

Mayor Ryan Palmer once again shared the many projects the council will be implementing in the next 12 months including the International Airport in Williamtown.

Our guest speaker was Pastor Sue Irwin, the Senior Pastor of the Grainery Church in Newcastle. We were also honoured to have her husband Graeme with us, who pioneered St Phillips Christian College in Salamander. Sue shared that as Christians, it isn’t about what we DO but who we ARE. The evening concluded with an aerial view of Port Stephens with the song “The Great Southland of the Holy Spirit and a Prayer of Declaration over our region.

Thank you to HUNTERLAND for sponsoring our event and the volunteers who gave of their time to make this evening run smoothly and to be a blessing to all who came.
